Quotes from the judges of the 2023 Herblock Prize:

From Signe Wilkinson:

"While he damaged the souls of our liberal judges, Michael Ramirez crisply defended his conservative views with masterfully assured artwork and gleeful critiques of our cities' pro-criminal laws to Hunter Biden messing his Dad's oval office to illustrating the difference between equality and equity.  His most poignant was a simple, empty lifeguard chair labeled "Internet" with no lifeguard for the children's pool." She added, "Even I, a cranky feminazi liberal, admired Michael's assured style and forthright dissection of much liberal orthodoxy."

From Steve Artley:

"Michael Ramirez's submissions for this year's Herblock awards clearly demonstrate his mastery of blending political satire with stunning imagery."

From Lalo Alcaraz:

"Michael Ramirez is an incredible craftsman, he bends ink to his will and produces intricate designs that are unparalleled. I hardly ever agree with his politics, but this portfolio has broad appeal and beautiful art."
